I took my ROA to the range today. This was the first time I have shot it, as a matter of fact, and it was the first time I have shot a Cap ’n Ball revolver. Had a great time and was the center of attention at the range as not too many people get to see an old “tyme” revolver up close and in action. A few didn’t think these revolvers were accurate enough to hit paper targets at 25 yards. Some people were surprised at the power 40 grains of powder can yield.
Anyway, when I got home and started cleaning it, I noticed it is somewhat difficult to clean all the gunk out of the nipple recesses in the cylinder, What method and specialized tools do you guys use to get this area squeaky clean?
By the way, I use the hot water and soap method to remove the fouling.
Thanks!
