After Action Report, Department of the Platte muster, 2020
« on: August 03, 2020, 11:21:42 PM »
On the first weekend of August the Department of the Platte staged our 3rd annual muster.  Present for duty were:  John Smith, Mike Davison, Bob Weller (new enlistee 2018), Jim Hasler (new enlistee 2019), Henry Durkop (new enlistee 2020), Karol Bullen, and Andy Bullen (aka Brevet Col Sagebrush Burns, commanding and your correspondent).  The muster consisted of three Victorian Era skirmishes shot Saturday Morning, long range rifle and precision pistol shot Saturday afternoon, Expansion Era skirmish and partners stage shot Sunday morning.

Our terrain is rough and uneven and filled with pinon and juniper trees, sage and rabbit brush, and small cacti.  In keeping with our now established tradition targets were usually hard to find/see if not terribly difficult to hit once found.  We set up the skirmish stages on Friday, shot Saturday and Sunday, and had everything put away by Sunday lunch.  Lunch both days (fried chicken and fixins) was provided by the Department and catered by Doctor D Mento (Karol B).

The Department championship was won by John Smith and the match champion was Bob Weller.  Everyone had a good time (at least that’s what they said to me) and we are looking forward to 2021.  All present helped with all the odious tasks such as humping steel and hauling materials out and back – many thanks!
