I was on the way to the USPS to mail a package, and I saw this guy.
Clearly covered head to toe in some sort of get-up
Note: the full lime green balaclava and the respirator mask covering his entire face & head.
Gloves, long sleeves, socks with sandals  ???
Of particular interest is the backpack, the raised pointy protrusion on the upper right. Hmmmm !

In light of crazy current events, I felt compelled to alert the local PD. I texted my friend with the Saint Cloud PD
with this photo. Florida has a " SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING" campaign for anti-crime.
There is a JR. High School within 2 blocks of this chap's stroll.

Not yet, I haven't caught up my friend with the Saint Cloud PD.  :-\

I did go to my friendly LGS today and picked up a project
for hire...
It's a Swiss Vetterli Rifle, in a state of neglect but can be
stabilized. So. I'm working on it hired by the owner.

It's all blown apart now, I'll boil and card the surface rust
the wood will be cleaned.
It is missing the rear of the bolt parts, FP, the FP spring and spring cover and rear nut.
Sadly, the owner has found them allusive, so he wants the gun preserved as a wall hanger for now.

Good afternoon folks, had a great day at Church today, beautiful weather, but sad watching the news that a church in Florida was attacked today.

Afternoon all.

65 and rainy in the sunshine state. Somewhat unexpected.

Biggest news here is that I "accidentally" bought an HK P2000sk in 9mm. Didn't walk into the gun store with any intention of buying a gun (I needed a box of 243 Winchester and some 410), but this model is discontinued, and was on sale. Normal price, $799, I got it for $425. I've also wanted one since I first saw in in Shooting Illustrated in fall 2008. So now I have it.

My other project right now is tanning a squirrel hide. I popped one getting into the horse feed yesterday, and figured I should probably try and do something With it. Made stew from the meat, and am tanning the hide. Not sure what I'll do with a squirrel hide, so I'm open to suggestions.

If you pop another squirrel you can have a pair of mittens. ;)

Don't tan it, deflesh it and dry it as well as remove the hair.  Cut it into shoelaces, never tried it but several sources say they are tough. Oil them after cutting and before use. ;)
