I was at Cabelas yesterday shortly after they opened, and got a brick of
Federal small pistol primers. They were sold out by 9:30 I got some a month ago
for $40 and yesterday they were $65, still decent compared to the scammers.
I should be set now, until this hopefully blows over.

Local shop, picked up a pound of 5744 for $49.99, a little higher then would have liked to pay. Skipped on 500 rounds .357 bullets for $139.99.

I ask myself, if I was a gun maker, ammo maker, or a manufacturer of brass, bullets, powder, or primers, how willing would I be to invest more capital in a business being targeted by the Biden Admin.  Biden just said he's going after AR-15s. His nominee for head of ATF wants high capacity handguns banned. Shotguns with more than the hunting limit are probably next. And I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with something to ban involving ammunition.

And don tell yourself we in the Ol' West gun community aren't directly threatened we'll be OK. Without ammunition we too will be dead in the proverbial water.

This doesn’t feel temporary like the past two shortages. I’m stocked up for for my grandkids except for a caliber or two. Lessons learned.
