Yet another reason I appreciate you gentlemen................
« on: September 21, 2015, 06:46:39 PM »
I've been trying to make a deal for a Smith & Wesson 1950 Target barrel on the Smith & Wesson forum.  The member I was dealing with had one, but was awfully proud of it and the cylinder to go with it.  I offered less and pointed out that, according to his measurements, the throats on the cylinder were oversize.  He then got grumpy and a little insulting.  He'd pointed out in an earlier message he's a retired Army officer, which disappoints me in that I would expect better behavior from a man who'd held such a position of leadership.  (My guess, after my extremely limited dealings with him, is that no one was all that disappointed when he retired.)  I've never seen that kind of behavior on this forum, at least since that jack-wagon "Liten" left.  Thank you all for maintaining standards of behavior here.

I recommend that all of you sign up to Canadian Gun Nutz. Not only does it have a lot of technical info, they have an EE sales forum and yes, most guns can be shipped to the US. If not directly, then through a broker.

What I like about buying off Gun Nutz is that every seller has a "trader rating". They also impose a mandatory 3-day inspection period (no firing) with a no penalty return clause. All parties must be happy with the deal.

We all value our trader rating. I haven't been stung there yet.

Yes! It has always appeared that members of the Grand Army of the Frontier do hold themselves to an extremely high standard. Like it's an unwritten qualification. This level of excellence that is continuously maintained by it's members has never ceased to amaze me!

Another "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"? Such association is worth a lot in today's world of shifting values and morality.

One reason may be the high percentage of ex-military men within the ranks of the GAF.

Ha Ha! Yes! I would say so. I drove out from back east 1512 miles to shoot with these gents and it was worth every mile-what a crew!

I hear the cook is kind of an arse if you ask for a caramel latte.  But at least he'll point the way to one even if it is 200 miles away.

Come on out again, was fun.

Cause them SOBs set me up, asked for that flavor of latte and took my picture with my reaction.   LOL, I love the picture also and I didn't hit any of them with the shovel, you were busy inside helping Jerry when the agrivated the cook. ;D
