Depending on the unit and scenario, I use a model 1894 overcoat, 1895 pickelhaube, 71/84 bayonet, 1886 marschstiefel  ;)

The French uniforms of 1914 were still 19th century ones, until reality caught up with them and they had to change....

I believe the Belgians went to war in blue wool also.
