New Elk from Grashorns
« on: August 25, 2010, 06:55:26 PM »
Just got this set of loose panels from Grashorns in the mail Monday and just finish gluing them up and final fitting. I had him make them thin and they fit just right.

Though it may be sacrilege, I like the elk antler look better than stag.  ;)  Lovely grips.

I have to agree with you on that except on nickel guns I think stag has the edge there.

These photos remind me why I should have never sold my New Frontier, which was the more rare 4.75in model. I did, however, just pick up my latest temptation, a Turnbull Cowboy Classic, 7.5in, 45LC with one piece elk stag grips similar to the gun pictured. It is probably one of the most beautful single actions I have ever bought. The grips really complement the Turnbull case colors. I can't wait to get some photos and will try to share them.
