Well, I played with both ejectors.  I do prefer the modified ones I did, just because they are slightly easier to use.  Instead of running along the rammer, it is away from the pistol when you use it.  I do think the modified ones look just a little bit cooler, also.

Your modified design will be easier on the bluing over time, too.
