Double bit is a 3 1/2 pound farmer type, seen some abuse, all fixable. No name on the head I can find. Gonna do it up right, shorter side will be angled for spitting, longer side is getting even more of a shallow angle for chopping and will eget an almost razor edge.
Will have to buy a handle but have raw material for other projects, Going to see if a friend can set me up with a hickory log about 4 feet long to split blanks out of and put in the shed attic to cure. A project for next winter is going to be a shaving horse for the front porch. Ought to really make the neighbors wonder.
