I'm thinking an Italian rod would probably fit fine? ...VTI, Cimarron, Taylors, EMF, DGW, etc.
The Powder Room - CAS reloading / 38 Long Colt Pressures
« Last post by reno on Yesterday at 01:45:48 PM »
Been loading 38 Long Colt a long time and just now thought of a question. I have no way to check pressure, and I always try to stick to the manuals. I load a cast 38 RNSP 158gr. bullet not a 150gr. like the data shows, with 1.8gr. Trail Boss. The data only shows 1.8gr. for a 150gr. bullet. Starting load for the150gr. said 1.8gr, and Max. 2.0gr. with the extra 8grs. of lead I hope Iam not pushing it, as I shoot all 38 LC. in my Conversions. Do  you think Iam pushing the pressure up to much?
Colt Firearms / Looking For: Bullseye Ejector Rod Head

Gentlemen, I prefer the bullseye ejector rod head to the crescent shaped one.  Anyone know where to get one?  S & S is out for now.

$5  surplus Cop Duty holster ...pouch in good condition, but missing the belt loop keeper & swivel hardware.
With the $5  I got 2 baton swivel carriers for donor parts included.

I have already removed the parts I need and spun them on my lathe to prepare them to restore the swivel holster

Thanks for the input Major.  A very interesting article. My son had a Russian. I didn't care for it much.  He eventually traded it in at a shop he was working for.  Do you have any idea why Taylors are the only importer who offer the new model 3?

New inhaler, actually doing good and humidity and smoke are most likely culprits.

Thanks for the clarification.  The Dragoon barrel term just through me.

So you want a Reb Navy Replica barrel.  I did a search for Reb Navy and came up with pictures of the brass framed with rounded barrel revolvers.  That then made me think of the Dance model that was offered, it also has a 44 rounded barrel.  I have never handled one so I do not know its' overall size relationship to the Navy frame.  But you could possibly add this model to your requested interest search to get a broader population of hits.

Another observation with these Reb Navy and Dance barrels are that only the Barrel is rounded.  The Arbor/Barrel Mouth area is still left flat-sided into half octagon topped shape.  The drastic barrel step may not get you to the correct overall shape of what is pictured.

The holster is a copy of a Collins. The Bowie, sadly, is not mine.
I looked at my copy of DEFENDING THE DOMINION, Canadian Military Rifles 1855-1955, David W. Edgecombe, service Publications, 2002. very interesting, but I cannot find any serial numbers for arms other than material transferred back to stores from the NWMP. (NO Spencers)
