Just Ducky

This ain't a Tall Tale, though I've been know to tell one or two, but to save Slim some work I'll just post it here. ;D

Our store is a mile or so within the Lincoln City Limits but there is some parks and creeks that run close that could be considered a bit wild.  Well Brad from the Warehouse just stopped by with a baby duck he found waddlin' up between the store and the warehouse all by itself.  Well he knows where there are several duck familys that will adopt it so it'll get a home.

I'd better grow feathers and webbed feet myself.  I just checked the weather, and guess what.  It's gonna rain this weekend. >:(  That's 6 weekends in a row the sky has leaked in one form or another.

Maybe it's the force of the smack making me say this, but I really do like baby ducks and geese.

There are several Canadian geese around my part of town and yesterday morning mother and father goose were taking their two little gosslings for a walk.  It always amazes me how they just step out into the busy traffic with no worries at all and then they take their time crossing the road.  All the while, the little ones are steadying themselves with their little outstretched wings as they teeter behind mom and dad.   :) :) :)

Yesterday they were headed in the direction of the park.  A nice family outing.

I ain't seen Brad since, but I'm sure it did, he's an ol' softy.  Lincoln has been invaded by Canada Geese by the hundreds, any city park with water is not safe to go barefoot in. ;D ;D  As they say, like poop through a goose. ::)
