Several new ones
« on: November 25, 2023, 11:26:33 PM »
It's been a slow year for leatherwork, I've only finished one holster this year before these four.

This is a copy of a pattern I saw in Guns of the Old West magazine. Original made by Bianchi Frontier Gunleather for Dennis Adler. I really liked the color and stamping pattern. Needs some tweaks but I got pretty close to it. My chestnut color with an aged finish.

This one will do triple duty for the 7.5" Wrangler or Single Six, as well as the Colt percussion guns and cartridge conversions. Aged finish chestnut.

Made one for my little .44Spl Thunderer.

Californian for the Walker.

Beautiful, Craig. I love the color you have on those first ones. Nice work, they all look right from the late 1800's.

Craig, I absolutely love the style/pattern of the first one. Such an elegant looking holster.

Thanks! It turned out better than expected. I draw up all my own Slim Jim patterns but that was the first Mexican loop I drew up from scratch. The rest have been at least based on Ghormley patterns.

That's certainly a good one. You might have to start thinking about pattern packs yourself.

Is the loop in the first one just folded around the pouch and sewn back to that side or does it go into the skirt?

It's folded around and riveted to the skirt.

Hi Craig, those all look great.

What is the curved stamp that ISN'T a Veiner from Tandy?  It's just a curved line that appears to be thicker in the center.  I think I have the rest of those stamps and stamping along or between lines is something I can handle.  Artistic I ain't.

This one? It's a Barry King lined veiner. I need to order a scalloped version.

That veiner looks good. For this purpose, a scalloped one might be too busy looking. BUT, it is a good excuse to get another BK stamp. ;D

Yeah, i think for that particular use, the scallops would be too much. There's already a lot going on there. It looks like the original is actually a wiggle. So I ordered one of those too. ;)

Barry had said a few years ago that he was working on a Greek wave stamp but alas, I still don't see it.

Hi Craig

Which Size is that one?  I'm copying both you AND Packing Iron.
Thanks

If I found the right receipt, it's a size 1.
