Henry LA .357/.38
« on: November 12, 2023, 11:17:33 PM »
Getting back into CAS and saw Henry has expanded their lineup -- well, thanks to google Analytics because that hit my inbox about 7-8 minutes after I searched for used CAS Rifles.

Anyway, does anyone here use a Henry for CAS?

If so, how long has it been? Any issues yet?

THX

The modern day Henry's are not accepted by N.C.O.W.S.

The reproduction, original Henrys are accepted.

I have a Uberti 1860 in 44-40. It has the short barrel and I have to set the bullet slightly more into the case in order to load ten rounds. It has a 4th generation short stroke kit and polished/slicked up a bit. It shoots as fast as I can work the lever. It is the smoothest running rifle I own. Just have to be careful loading it.

I may have misread this post. If it was directed toward the Henry company specifically I am sorry for the post. Please disregard it.

 :) Hi Griz  ;)

Depends (no, not the ones inna plastic package).  The Henry rifles such as the "Big Boy" are a little clunky for CAS.  They DO NOT go fast.  Run moderately, they work just fine.  If you're looking to "go fast" I wouldn't recommend them.  If you just looking for a lot of fun on a budget . . . . not a bad choice at all.
