Anything made by Kenny Howell is sure to be a quality product.

I found this line in the description of the spring kit that makes me question if it's intended for guns firing live ammo or only for guns modified to fire blanks.

"Free installation with purchase of any installed blank fire barrel."

I had some questions about that and also their comment regarding reduced loads. I called and talked with Maggie [who was a doll] and the kit is made for full power loads in .45 ACP. The website software will not allow customizing the comments in the ordering section, so all the stuff about blank barrels, conversion cylinders, etc. get lumped together.

Well, they sent me a kit and I put it into my AO M1 today. Mine is well-broken in so while not a huge improvement it is noticeably lighter. Length of the springs was identical to the factory stuff and it all fit perfectly. Plan to hit the range tomorrow to see how it now runs with this kit.

The Tommy ran fine with the new kit! Never missed a beat with handloads or 230 ball. It was noticeably easier to cock. I have dealt with some new Kahr/AO guns in the last couple of years that were HORRIBLE to cock, someone with lesser upper body strength would have had a really bad time with them. This kit will be a boon for those wanting to use a Tommy for Zoot Shooting. My next task is to do a video for this next week. I haven't ever done one before, so wish me luck.

Cycling the action is just a tad stronger than an m1911.
2 recoil springs are noticeably more flexible, lighter.
Kit comes with a firing pin spring which also adds to the reduction in hammer force. A new hammer is attached to the firing spring. A recoil spring buffer sits betwwn springs and the guide. Kit comes with instructions straight from kahr manual.

Kit is expensive $$$ compared to mcmaster option. But I liked the already correct durometered buffer and the firing pin spring.
Glad in my choice.

Sorry i believe the included firing pin spring helps reduce the cocking force not the hammer force.
