Okay, I have been shooting for years, but new to SASS. Can I use a 1892 replica and a hammerless shotgun without dressing in B movie category?
And a second question, I have some good lace up boots that have been resoled many times. The last time the cobbler put on a rubber sole. It is not lugged, so would they still be legal?

Howdy DeaconKC,
your long guns are fine for every category except Classic Cowboy. As for the boots, I'm pretty sure those will be okay for everything but Classic and B-Western (may be okay for Classic, but I'm not sure).

You can ask me any question you want DeaconKC and I will do my beat to steer you wrong.

PS I recognize your alias from the SASS wire, I f you go over there and ask in the recent past someone posted a thread about catagories and made a chart simplifying the requirements for the different catagories.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Wildman!

Wildman, I did post it on there, and yeesh. Thankfully this site is friendly to new q guy questions. If I wasn't thick skinned I would be like "Screw this, these guys are horse's rear ends, I'm outta here." Thankfully, one other person was nice enough to PM me with a thorough answer, but new people are certainly not treated in a welcoming way on SASSNET. Sad, as they are complaining that membership is dropping...

If you have a Victorian Era military rifle, head over to "The Barracks". We're usually very accommodating there!

Niederlander, THIS forum is always friendly. And thanks!

Never intended to imply anything else. I've always found CasCity to be a friendly, respectful place (with a couple of pretty minor exceptions). One reason I left SASS years ago was how rude people were getting on the SASS Wire. Always seemed to be some jack wagon know-it-all on any topic. Definitely check out "The Barracks", though!

That particular guy is a real butthead, in the past he has been banned and should be now. I really have no idea why that thread you started was locked other than that bleep chimed in with his asinine opinion.

Yup, looked at that troll's posts and found the ignore button. Should improve the experience.
