1911 & Wild Bunch Shooting / Re: Tisas 1911 on sale

I bought one of these a couple of years ago. Out of the box it was rough as a cob. After a bunch of polishing and Wolfe Springs it has turned into a really sweet pistol. With some work, they are well worth the money.

Those sound like reasonable parameters

Another view of the Vietnam era thru late 80's Pilot Survival Vest,
These were still in some use during the Gulf War.
But had seen modification and newer versions issued.
The S&W Mod-15 and in early 60's Colts Commando were
replace pretty much entirely by the Issue Beretta 9MM.
by the late eighties.

My thought would be Lead bullet, no Gas Checks, minimum .375 caliber, minimum OAL 2".

Lead bullet: no target damage
No gas checks: no high velocity smokeless loads.  BP encouraged, but not required.
.375 caliber: keep bullet weight up.
OAL 2": no pistol calibers.

Any rifle meeting these parameters is fine.  Time is not a factor.

For the expansion era I brought an original grenade launcher cup that fits my British 1916 No1 Mk3 rifle.  Tennis balls fit in it snuggly, and launch with the black powder blanks I made up.  It was a lot of fun, unfortunately a tennis ball only lasts a couple of launches.  But so much fun.

Jerry and Chuck, what rifles are allowed on these shoots?  If I need a heavier bullet, can I use an 1886 Winchester in .45-70?

Hello, Rimfire:

The original copper cases were thinner than brass. This might complicate die dimensions.

Please consider making a Cerrosafe chamber casting so the die set can match it and your provided cases.

You might be in for a long wait with CH4D.

An alternative would be a custom die set possibly made by either Buffalo Arms in Ponderay ID or Tom Crone in MD.  Tom is a respected craftsman/machinist for skirmishers.  He makes straight line seating dies and they are top quality.  He is at the N-SSA Nationals this week, so if interested, give him a few days and call him at 301-473-5699. Smiles.

I shot a CAS match today, was probably my best match ever. Clean and after bonuses I had 1 stage in low 30's the rest in the 20's. I'm a very happy Cowboy ;D  ;D
