I know neither the 75's or 90's are chambered in 38/40, but I'd really like a pair of 75's in 38/40. I've given thoughts to getting a couple in 357 mag and having them converted. Would it be a bore out of the barrel and cylinder? or how could this be done? And by who?
Can't hardly believe they make them in 9mm and not 38/40.And yes I have asked Uberti about the possibility of making 75's in 38/40, negative response.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

I think the only way to accomplish what you have in mind is convert a .357.  I don't know of anyone who does this kind of machine work, but you might try to contact Brian Pearce at Handloader magazine.  I know he has done a few projects like this.  There is a gun shop in Ten Sleep, WY, that might have the ability.  He posts on the Colt Forum (Not CasCity) as Lever Action Bill.

Yes, I know Bill personally and are planning a trip there in July. It will be a topic for discussion to be sure.

They were never offered in 38wcf but you could approximate it with .40s&w

That would be defeating the purpose. I know they were never made in 38/40. I asked Uberti a couple times if they were going to make them in 38/40 and was told there were no plans to do so. And then they come out with the silly 9mm.  ::)
