Hello.

I recently acquired this beautiful pistol and I am looking for more information about it.

It came with a Red River soft bag, but I don't believe it is a RR edition based on the serial numbers of others I've seen here.

Does anyone know how many USFA made of this particular model? I gather that Flattops are a bit more rare.

What value would you who know more place on it?

I am not looking to sell it here... I'm just curious.

Thanks in advance.

Jay

Here is the problem.  While your Flattop is not super common, assigning a "value" is difficult.  Since the demise of USFA, the difference between original selling price and what is being paid now has to rational relationship.  Rabid collectors have driven prices way beyond what those guns are actually worth. Essentially all you actually have is another Used Single Action Revolver.  However, you won't actually know what the "worth" is until someone pays you folding money for it.  You can probably start somewhere around two grand and go up.  How far up is anybodies guess.

Thanks for the reply Coffinmaker. I have it now listed on Gunbroker. We shall see what happens.

That is a gorgeous gun in a great caliber. In my opinion $3000 to 3500 is a fair price. That's about what I put any 'special' or 'unusual' USFA at that's American made. I love Flattops as well as the Colt New Frontiers but I think most people would rather have a U.S. Cavalry gun, a Nettleton or an Ainsworth, if they're going to spend big bucks. I've got a Uberti Flattop in 44-40. Seeing yours makes me wish Uberti had done them in full blue as the originals were.
