Modified Solingen Bowie
« on: November 09, 2021, 09:26:54 AM »
Here's one I finished recently.  I had an older 8" carbon steel bowie made in Solingen, Germany, so I decided to modify it a little to make it more closely resemble a late 19th Century Sheffield bowie.  I reshaped the blade, made a guard out of mild steel, and used elk stag for the handle scales.  The elk stag had very little figure to it, so I used a Dremel tool and added texture to the scales.  I think it turned out ok.

Jake, I'd say it turned out better than just "nice".  You sure did good on that elk stag.  It's a very nice clean Bowie for sure.
