 You would do well to find a bullet that is at least 1.3 inches long, to utilize the 18 twist in the barrel, with a diameter to match the throat of your rifle.
 Then load it to around 1200-1300 fps

My Lyman Lubesizer works great with SPG or home made tallow beeswax 50/50. Just got to remember to back off the tension on the lube if it's going to sit a long time or the soft lube will ooze out around the die.

It looks like a fine one.
Calamity JoAnne shoots a pair of older K-Vaqs in .44 Mag with the 7'5" barrels too.

Long barrels used to be a thing for us.  I started shooting SASS with a pair of K-Supers with 10.5" barrels.
I shot clean a lot, but I was P-R-E-T-T-Y S-L-O-W to draw.

That attitude always puzzles me.  What the heck did he think the people at Colt built them FOR?  It sure wasn't to just look at.
