Attaching a Fairweather Christian Belt Hook
« on: November 20, 2022, 01:04:55 PM »
Hi

I own a really good Fairweather Christian belt from David Carrico.  I starting making my own belts, but not for shooting until now.  I'm part of the way through a Fairweather Christian belt using a Civil War era belt like the one Frank James used.  I have several ways of attaching / adjusting the belt from this page:

including the one in the first picture.

The back is supposed to look like the second picture (riveted).

How do I make the brad look like a rivet?  Do I cut if off say 1/8 to 1/4 inch above the leather and treat it like a copper rivet?  Can I use the copper rivet tool or will it break?

Thanks
