Pietta 1860-"sheriff" needs a 'Smith
« on: September 16, 2022, 11:26:35 AM »
So this gun was never right.
Screws were too tight to begin with, wedge was forced in and customer service was not the best IMHO.
So the two grip frame screws behind the hammer are stuck and heads stripped. Taylors refused to fix, local gunsmith is 3+mo backed up and not super interested.

So if someone can remove these screws and replace all screws
and springs with a higher quality, replace the grip frame(snapped off trying to break off the 1pc wood), adjust the timing, and crown the muzzle.
I may be interested in a fully tuned action job.

But first, we gotta get these head-stripped screws out.
Can anyone help me???
