Don't know if there's any interest in this here, but... Frank Harpold,  fwharpold@yahoo.com is making a very nice inspection device for the Trapdoor Springfield that also works very will with the 1886 .45/70. There are pictures and details at  http://www.trapdoorcollector.com/FHarpold.html  Al Fraska's Trapdoor website. This makes it easy to check for leading with lead loads. I have no interest in this other then I'm very pleased with mine and glad it works well w/ the '86. Figure it oughta work with all calibers... Betterluckytg
