Title: Finally getting around to rebuilding my 1895 musket
Post by: The Pathfinder on October 11, 2017, 07:13:45 PM
As there seems to be a dearth of metal parts ( I have the wood either on hand or on the way) would anyone know what parts can be substituted for the barrel band with swivel and the front band with the bayonet lug? I have a Krag front band in my parts box, just waiting on the forestock to arrive from Homestead to try it. Figured I'd see if anyone had some advice. ???

I used Krag bands and the forend cap on mine.  Also a Krag handguard.

My Musket thread.  BTW I do have the proper carbine Buttstock, but I just like the shotgun stock better.  Looks better to me!  And no one can accuse me of faking one!

Thanks, Drydock, nice to know the Krag parts will work. May actually get this thing done this winter. I hope. Maybe. ;D
