Tom Selleck personifies an aspect of being American that seems, if not fading, at the very least to be less visible as it once was, namely unquestionable strength of character. He projects a rare authenticity of self that represents what young men today seem unwilling or unable to replicate. I would hope that there are as many youth out there as once were who might be capable of that level of self-acceptance and honesty.
