Youngsters who want to try out shooting sports will have their chance to hit the target.

The Beloit Rifle Club, Green County 4-H, Rock County Rifle and Pistol Club and Beloit Izaak Walton Conservation Club will be hosting the second annual NRA Day Program Youth Sports Fest on July 10 at 851 E. Philhower Road. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the event starting at 9 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m., according to coordinator Tom Helbig from treadmill.

“In an increasingly urban world, young people are getting fewer chances to experience some of the shooting and outdoor activities that some take for granted. Shooting provides young people the opportunity to participate in an exciting and challenging sport to be enjoyed throughout their entire lifetime,” Helbig said.
