Armi Sport and Taylor's & Company, Inc. are proud to recapture the technology of the firearm originally produced by Christopher Miner Spencer, noted as one of the leading men in the machine tool industry. Spencer initially produced the 1860 Spencer Carbine which was noted to be accurate and fire rapidly, have a long, effective range and hold seven metallic cartridges that weren't effected by dampness and didn't need caps to fire! The Spencer Models boasted they were very different from any other firearm; the seven shots could be loaded and capped in less time than any other rifle. This new designed rifle could be fired more rapidly than a revolver and reloaded in a tenth of the time it would take to reload a Colt style revolver. In 1865, Spencer delivered the Model 1865 Spencer Carbine that was modified to correct the inherent flaws in the original design. This model 1865 Spencer carbine has been recreated by Armi Sport and Taylor's & Company and is offered to you with the features noted.

Pros:
Quality fit and Finish, great value
Cons:
Rear sight notch should be bigger
First, I'll say this review is for my 45 Schofield.
I am quite pleased with my purchase ( though I traded for mine with just a bit of cash involved )I would not hesitate to buy one out right. But do you homework, they can be purchased a less than the Suggested Retail Price (watch for sales).
I bought 45 Sch. because it was pistol Caliber I shoot. It was cheaper to shoot than 56/50 and I could use it main match (56/50 is now legal too).
I own an original now I have an everyday/match gun.
I gave it a 9 because there is a little room for improvement (rear sight) but otherwise it is a smooth shooter and great fun and style.
