Regulators keep Old West traditions alive in northern Illinois

SYCAMORE – The Kishwaukee Valley Regulators of Sycamore are keeping the spirit of the Old West alive in northern Illinois.

The club is affiliated with the international Single Action Shooting Society, an organization that preserves and promotes the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting. According to the guidelines, each member must select a “shooting alias” representative of a character or profession of the Old West or Western film genre.

All guns used by members of the regulators should be of a pre-1900s style, either original or reproduction. Authentic cowboy or Western wear is encouraged.
