Recent News About Me:
My wife and I produce an interactive storytelling performance entitled "Nat Love Presents True Tales of the Olde West." Members of the audience are assigned roles to play as a 152 year old cowboy/author NAT LOVE (yours truly), weaves the elements of the story with the various members of the audience. Within moments of my wife introducing me as "Nat Love," the audience returns to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The stories are all true, with a good bit of humor and excitement mixed in to keep everyone's attention and to help the audience retain the stories that are presented. In addition to performing at a Scottsdale, Arizona vacation resort (Desert Oasis), we travel around the country and abroad bringing the true story of diversity in the old West to families and students.

| My Chosen Alias
(The story behind and how I picked it): |
Nat Love was born a slave in 1854 in Davidson county, Tennesee. His father risked lynching by teaching his children to read and write. After the Civil War, Nat left home to launch his career as a cowboy in the rough and rowdy cowtowns like Dodge City and Abilene. In 1907, Nat wrote the autobiography of his days as a slave, cowboy, and porter. Storytelling has always fascinated me. From grade school to college and troughout several careers (military, broadcasting, education), I have used storytelling to create multi- dimensional images about the men and women of the old west. When I decided to join S.A.S.S. in 1994, I thought it was appropriate to take on the character "Nat Love." In addition to living and working as a cowboy in Arizona, Nat Love's 19th century literacy skills gave me powerfull storytelling tools. He proved that not all cowboys were illiterate, and not all cowboys were white. Madison "Nat Love" Walker - 2007 |
