| My Chosen Alias
(The story behind and how I picked it): |
Professor Albert Wickwire was born in Manhattan, New York in 1859 to a prosperous family.
At the start of the Civil War, Albert’s father volunteered to go off and fight. Only his sword came home.
After the war, Albert's mother moved the family (herself, Albert, his brother, and sister) out to the farming communities of Long Island.
Albert went to Yale College and received degrees in chemistry and physics.
After spending some years in the Army Corp of Engineers, Albert retired at the rank of Captain due to the increasing influence of politics on the goals of the Engineers.
Albert is currently (late 1890s) an inventor and experimentalist in the Northeast (Albany and surrounding areas).
Albert can read German and Latin, he also knows some conversational German (very little). Professor Wickwire also has more than a passing knowledge of metallurgy and metalworking. |
