My Chosen Alias (The story behind and how I picked it):

When I joined SASS, I was thinking on an alias and this being a "fantasy" sport that is both based in history and laden with "stinkin' badges", I decided I would not take up a “lawdawg” persona as I have been a law enforcement officer for about 20 years and here you have a sport where thousands of "civilians" are sporing badges! I noted that many CAS shooters were fulfilling their dream of being an old west marshal or other type of lawman.

So, with this in mind, I figured I'd portray a dastardly, evil, no good, bad guy. Along the trail, I have met many active and retired lawmen in SASS / CAS and found most of them had taken on "bad guy" personas for the very same reason!

Being that my dearly departed mother was purebred Swedish, I decided that I would be a Swede. Well, "Swede" and "Big Swede" and about a dozen other variations were taken, so I ended up being.. The Evil Swede.

Let me tell you, along with that particular type alias comes an extensive wardrobe of BLACK clothing.. on hot days at the range, I really wish I had asked about "Honest Swede" before I locked in the Evil one. It also seems everyone here in the U.S. thinks ALL Swedish people have blonde hair and blue eyes. Anyone that has ever been to Sweden can tell you otherwise!

Anyhow, I really got turned on to the game of faro at EoT 2000, where I was a hard workin' waddie. Previously, like about 99.99% of the world, I really had no idea about the game of faro and began my research in earnest when I returned home. I now run a small home business, selling reproduction old west-style faro equipment at the link above (www.FaroKing.com)

My chosen character is that of a professional saloon gambler. As an early Swedish immigrant to Texas, my character quickly moved on to greener pastures in the California Gold Camps and San Francisco’s infamous Barbary Coast! Dealing faro, Spanish Monte and running various dice games (Chuck-a-Luck anyone?) with the assistance of his beautiful partner, a Southern Belle known as “Madame Wicked.” He also took various side jobs as a vigilante/lawman, publisher/editor, pimp and part-time saloon operator.

"I'm no thief, but I'll give you odds on a roll of the dice or the turn of a card!"

My current guns & gear:

Along with the usual fare of CAS guns (Stainless RV's, a sweet Marlin carbine and an original Win '97), I am apt to carry at least one pocket pistol and a very sharp San Francisco Bowie Knife. But, I should warn you, Madame Wicked is the one you need to watch out for!
