  Miss Anna Price Smith of Howard, Kansas, died at Excelsior Springs, Missouri, February 26, 1910 where she had gone for treatment.  The body was taken to Kahoka, Missouri Sunday by her sister Miss Edna M. Smith and brother Wm. Smith.  The funeral services were held at the home of her Aunt, Mrs. Louis Mc
Dearmott at 11 o'clock Mondayk morning conducted by Rev. Conoran of Keokuk, Iowa.  The burial was in Kahoka cemetery.
  Anna Price Smith was born to Wm. L. and Lucy Ann Smith in Clark county, Missouri, October 4, 1861, hence was 48 years 5 months of age at her death.  She spent the early part of her life in Clark county Missouri where she taught school for 14 years making her home with her aunt Mrs. McDearmott of Kahoka during her vacation.  Miss Smith was converted at the age of 13 and united with the Christian church at Kahoka in 1879, and lived a most conscientious christian, devoting her life to Sunday School, and prayer meeting work, and encouraging the young people to do good in the world.  She came to Howard Kansas in 1901, and lived with her brother near the Highland school house until a few days before her death.  She taught three terms of school in Elk County.  On coming to Kansas Miss Smith united with the Christian Bethany Church of this county.
  She was a faithful worker in church and Sunday School at Highland where she has served as Superintendent for several years and was a great help to the young folks of this community always speaking an encouraging word to everyone.  Three brothers Jas. E., Geo. W., and Howard L., of Howard, Kansas and one sister, Miss Eva M. of St. Louis, Missouri with other relatives and a host of friends are left to mourn her departure.  Memorial service to her memory will be conducted by Rev. Gilbert Park of Howard, at the Highland school house Sunday March 27, 1910 at three o'clock in the afternoon.
