Heck, how would I know????  I just wrote exactly what I found in the recipes...although, it stands to reason, you might want to wait until they are almost ripe...I can't even begin to imagine what a truly green fruit would taste like, even when it's combined with other fruit....eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Does anyone remember having creamed fried bologna?  My mom used to make it and served it over plain toast.  Or, fried bologna and fried noodles.  Yum!

Fried balogna, fried hot dog rounds or whatever put in cream gravy. A perfect lunch for hungry kiddies; my favorite was open faced cheese sandwiches fixed with velveeta and toasted in the broiler. Yum!
