Lyle Ray Signer, age 71, peacefully passed away at his home in Severy, Kansas on March 18, 2020.  He was born on June 21, 1948 in Eureka, Kansas, the son of Clifton Eugene "Gene" and Mary Louise (Miller) Signer.

Lyle attended elementary school at a one-room school, Union Center School, in rural Elk County, Kansas and then Howard High School, graduating with the Class of 1967.  He then served in the United States Air Force from age 19-39.  After 20 years of service, he retired as an E7 Master Sergeant.  He continued his highly skilled trade in the aircraft industry as an avionics technician until 2017. Lyle was a member of the Carter-Rader American Legion Post #149 in Howard, Kansas.   He lived his life with dedication, loyalty, and hard work.  He will be remembered for his many stories of growing up on a farm.  He loved to travel and will continue to live on through the humor he instilled in his boys.

Lyle is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Donna; two sons, Scott (Nichole) and Tim (Regina); his brother, Ted Signer; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his best friend and cousin, Steve (Sally) Signer; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother, Dennis E. Signer.

Due to the current health and safety circumstances, the family will hold a private service.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
