In Case You Missed It . . .

Yesterday was Military Spouse Appreciation Day. And of course, in today's modern military, the term spouse is used very liberally. If you did not celebrate yesterday, then you can celebrate tonight at the 6th annual national gala in Washington DC hosted by the American Military Partner Association (AMPA), "the nation's largest non-profit organization of #LGBTQ #military spouses & families." The featured speaker and honoree is the 75th U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus. He was "Secretary of the Navy from 2009 to 2016 — the longest tenure as leader of the Navy and Marine Corps since World War I." The AMPA will honor Mabus "with the organization's National Leadership Award for his tremendous advocacy for the LGBTQ military community."

Why bother posting this? Because too many conservative Christians still hold the military in such high esteem. Yet, the military is an unholy institution. If conservative Christians don't care about the military bombing, maiming, and killing to carry out an evil US foreign policy, do they at least care that their beloved military is a cesspool of wickedness?

Wake-up!

Pretty judgmental by Laurence Vance on this topic. Taken from a serious Libertarian website, but not really a Libertarian statement at all. Dear Laurence, your cesspool of wickedness, as you label it, is no fault of the military (not excusing the faults it does have). The military is simply a reflection of our society, in this case.

Libertarians should judge their own lives, and not judge how others conduct themselves. Libertarianism is not about casting stones nor inventing a 21st century version of the Salem witch trials. Laurence Vance may be advocating conservative Christian beliefs. I have no problem if he is. But he should not be making any inference that his thoughts on the LGBTQ crowd are embraced by Libertarians. They should not be.

These days the military is very liberal - the leadership consists of New World Order types and liberal ideology.

Yes, the military is about like our society - and they're much better prepared to defend socialism and equality than our American liberty.

Thanks.

Wake-up!

Agree . . . . and agree.

If our American liberty is to be defended, or should I say restored, then I think we must defend liberty for all Americans, including those Laurence Vance et. al. believe are a cesspool of wickedness. If one of us is chained, none of us are free. If Laurence et. al. do not support the right of the LBGTQ crowd to choose and voluntarily interact, then they do not support liberty, and are not Libertarian.

And that leaves the door open to having others come after the Rights that Laurence et. al. do cherish. And you and I both know that is already happening, has been for a helluva long time.
