Ray Owen Sumner, age 83, of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on April 15, 2019 at his home.  He was born April 29, 1935 in Burden, Kansas to Rufus Sumner, Sr. and Viola (Chambers) Sumner.

Ray married Nona Kay Knabe on June 12, 1960 in Moline, Kansas.  He worked as a meter reader for the United City Gas Company.  Memberships were held in the Moline Baptist Church in Moline, Kansas and the Hope Lodge in Howard, Kansas. 

Ray is survived by his wife, Nona Kay; one son, James (Justina) Sumner of Moline, Kansas; one daughter, Jane (Terry) Harrod of Moline, Kansas; two sisters, Faye Smith and Iris Howard, both of Thayer, Kansas; 3 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Howard, Gene, Rufus Jr., and Orin Sumner; and three sisters, Nita Wilson, Aletha Titus, and Louise Dennett.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.

There will be a Memorial Service for Ray Sumner held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  at the Moline Baptist Church in Moline, Kansas.
