Lyman Rex Hershberger of Toronto, Kanss, died on March 19, 2019 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 86.  He was born on December 4, 1932 in Harper, Kansas, the son of Merle Rex and Bertha Georgia (Doolittle) Hershberger. 

Lyman was raised in Toronto, Kansas and attended Stony Point Schoolhouse. On June 19, 1959, he was united in marriage to Loretta Jean Simmons in Madison, Kansas.  They made their home onthe farm, and to this union four children were born.   He was a farmer and rancher at Toronto all his life.  He also worked for the City of Eureka for twenty years. He was a member of Farm Bureau and the Toronto Saddle Club.

Lyman is survived by his wife, Loretta of the home; children, Brenda and husband, Gerald Hawn and Dora and husband, Wayne Everly, all of Fall River, Kansas, Betty and husband, Jack Everly of Lathrop, Missouri and Rex and wife, Terri Lynn Hershberger of Toronto; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Dolores Crumrine of Virgil, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held on March 25, 2019 at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, Kansas with Pastor Mike Hughes of Cornerstone Christian Church of Fredonia officiating.  Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka, Kansas.  The family has requested that memorials be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O.
