HOGAN, Carl Curtis - b. December 17, 1930 - d. March 13, 2019

Carl Curtis Hogan, age 88, of Neodesha, Kansas, passed away on March 13, 2019 at the Cherryvale Nursing Center in Cherryvale, Kansas.  He was born on December 17, 1930, the son of Chester E. and Birdie I. (McAfee) Hogan.

Carl enlisted in the United States Army in 1951 where he served his country until being honorably discharged in 1953.  He served in Korea for about a year of his service.  On November 24, 1957, he married Elizabeth Leewright in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.  He worked for many years as a mechanic, a welder, and a farmer.  He was a member of the VFW.  He liked to hunt and fish and also enjoyed planting trees and tinkering with "stuff".

Carl is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of the home in Neodesha, Kansas; three daughters, Laura Doty (David) of Rantoul, Kansas, Debbie Clemens (Bruce) of Independence, Kansas, and Brenda McGee (Brian) of Edna, Kansas; two sons, Larry Hogan of Coffeyville, Kansas and David (Juvelyn) Hogan of Parsons, Kansas; one sister, Twilla Smith of Arkansas City, Kansas, one brother, Vernon Hogan of Arkansas City, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Aden Hogan; one sister, Carol Mayhill; and two grandchildren, Angel Doty and Ashley McGee.

Funeral services were held on March 18, 2019 at the Allen Family Funeral Services in Independence, Kansas with Hospice Chaplain Keith Springer officiating.  Burial followed in the Longton Cemetery in Longton, Kansas.  The family has suggested memorials to the Americn Alzheimer's Association or the Parkinsons' Association and may be left in care of Allen Family Funeral Services, 3848 W.
