Donna Marie Brinkmeyer, 61, beautiful wife, mother, nanny, sister, aunt, and friend of Fall River, Kansas, peacefully entered heaven surrounded by her loving family on February 12, 2019 following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Wilbur "Willie" and Ruth "Sally" (Forgie) Herron.,

Donna married the love of her life, Dwight, on December 29, 1980 and raised three boys in Park City, Kansas.  When their youngest was a freshman in high school, they moved to the place Dwight and Donna first met, Fall River Lake, Kansas.  When Dwight and Donna first met through their mutual friend, Denise, it was not an instant connection.  Donna had long hair that hung down over her face and was very shy, and they didn't hit it off.  The second time they met, Donna had cut her hair short, and it was then love at first, well second sight.  When Donna broke up with Dwight, she tried to remain friends, but he told her he couldn't do that as he knew one day they would be married.  Many years later, they reconnected once again through Denise.  Their first date the second time around was December 29, 1979, and a year later on that same date, they were married.  They had just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.

Donna loved the Wizard of Oz, painting and doing crafts in her shed, and gossiping on the porch with her friends.  The thing she loved the most, however, was being a wife, mom, and Nanny to her eleven grandchildren, treasuring each moment.  She would do anything for those babies, and they knew they could talk her into anything.  They also knew she would always be there for them anytime they needed her.  The grandchildren were her everything, and they adored her just as much.

Donna is survived by her husband, Dwight Brinkmeyer; sons, Brent Brinkmeyer, Shannon (Megan) Brinkmeyer, and David Brinkmeyer; grandchildren, Tyler, Alexee, Xander, Christian, Brenna, Lily, Haydn, Teagn, Logan, Hudson, and Noah; brothers, Eddie Turner, David Herron, Mark Herron, and Lester Herron; and sisters, Ruth Hakim and Dianne Barnes.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbue "Willie" and Sally Herron and sister, Suzanne Kernes.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 100 S. Cedar, Valley Center, Kansas. Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February, 21, 2019 at Baker Funeral Home with a graveside service following at Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.  Memorials may be designated in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com.
