Kent Burnard Llafet, 72, of Parkville, Missouri, passed away October 2, 2018 at the North Kansas City Hospital.  He was born January 22, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Kenneth B.  and Charlene (McFall) Llafet.  He was raised by his father and stepmother, Betty (McFall) Llafet.

During Kent's teenage years, he lived in Rocky Ford, Colorado and Duluth, Minnesota, and his family settled in Kansas City, Missouri.  He graduated from Park Hill High School in 1964 and spent the majority of his working career for Dr. Pepper and 7-Up Bottling Company where he retired in 2011.

Kent was a hotrodder at heart and loved attending races in Riverside, Missouri.  Along with spending time with family, he enjoyed attending the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas.  He had attended most of the festivals since 1971.

Survivors include his wife, Beth (Walker) Llafet and their children, Sarah Smith and husband, Jeffrey and Brad Llafet.  He is also survived by his biggest and greatest fan, granddaughter Aspen Smith; two step-children, Codi and Colton Smith; two brothers, Keith Llafet of Thornton, Colorado and Greg Llafet and wife, Shirley of Greeley, Colorado.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Roach. 

Family and friends gathered at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, Missouri on October 8, 2018 to visit and celebrate Kent's life. A graveside service and burial of the cremains will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Walnut Valley Festival, 918 Main Street, Winfield, Kansas 67156 or the Mt. Olivet Cemetery and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel, 401 Main, Parkville, Missouri 64152.  Memories of Kent and condolences for the family may be shared at www.meyersfuneralchapel.com.

Beth (Walker) Llafet, wife of Kent, grew up in Moline, Kansas and graduated from Moline High School.  She is the daughter of the late Damain Philip Walker and Orien Walker-Tanner.
