Eugene Randolph Thompson, 99, of Longton, Kansas, passed away February 13, 2018 at Medicalodge of Independence, Kansas.  He was born in Larned, Kansas on November 28, 1918 to Riley H. and Carrie (Kitterman) Thompson.

Gene attended Larned High School and graduated in 1936.  He worked at Boeing as a welder until his retirement on January 1, 1985.  He was a farmer in the Furley, Kansas area for several years.  He enjoyed family, farming, fishing, and was involved with his church, being a longtime member of the Furley United Methodist Church in Furley, Kansas.

Gene married Ruby Roberts in 1942, and they adopted a daughter.  Ruby preceded him in death in 1965.  He then married Norma Beem in 1967, and she passed away in 2001.  Gene married Corrine Roberts in 2002, and she passed away in 2012. 

Surviving family members include his brother, Paul Thompson of Council Grove, Kansas; his daughter, Joyce McQuillan of Grandview, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Sharon Ferguson and Mona Cody, both of Longton, Kansas; two stepsons, Dallas Beem and Bruce Beem, both of Longton, Kansas; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; a brother, Wayne Thompson; and a stepdaughter, Joyce McBeath.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Furley United Methodist Church, 11400 E. 101st North, Furley, Kansas with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside service will follow at the White Chapel Cemetery, 1806 N. Oliver, Wichita, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his memory to the Furley United Methodist Church.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com.
