Helen Jeanne Lair, 91, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away September 9, 2017.  She was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 5, 1926 to Waldo Leroy "Roy" Bone and Mary (Barackman) Bone.

After briefly residing in Amarillo, Helen's family moved back to their native Kansas where Mr. Bone began a long career with the Long-Bell Lumber Company requiring several moves throughout southern Kansas.  After Helen graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas, the family relocated to Coffeyville, Kansas where Helen met and married in 1948 Dale Lair who had recently returned from serving in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater of World War II.  Helen worked in various financial institutions while the family lived in Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona.  A loving and supportive mother to her four children, she remained vital and independent until her passing, living on her own after Dale's death in 1990.  The thing she cherished most was time she spent with family.  She also loved animals, caring for several family cats and dogs over the years.

Helen is survived by her son, Brian (Noreen) Lair of Wichita, Kansas; daughters, Julie (Mark) Forsyth of Gold Canyon, Arizona and Janis Lair of Mesa, Arizona; brother, David (Sally) Bone of Woodland Park, Colorado; sister, Kathleen Keller of San Dimas, California; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and close neighbors and friends.  Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale E. Lair, and her oldest son, Kevin (Vickie) Lair.
