Lola E. Hendrickson, 94, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away July 6, 2017 at Winfield Rest Haven in Winfield, Kansas.  Born July 26, 1922 in Fruita, Colorado, she was the daughter of Clifford Virgil "C.V." and Daisy Belle (McCain) Frueh.

The family moved to Grenola, Kansas where Lola was raised and received her education, graduating from Grenola High School.  She was united in marriage to John D. "Strawberry" Hendrickson on June 11, 1942 in Winfield, Kansas.  The couple made their lifelong home in Winfield where she worked at Seamore's for a short time before making a career as a homemaker. 

Lola was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  She enjoyed sewing and crafting and was a talented artist and enjoyed tinting black and white photos.  She also loved animals.

Her family includes her son, Dale E. Hendrickson and wife, Rose Ann of Winfield, Kansas; her daughters, Deann Lear and husband, Roger and Helen "Teany" Samms and longtime companion, Charlie Barshear, all of Winfield, Kansas; her grandchildren, Stephen Hendrickson and wife, Deb, Angie Perkins and husband, Randy, Gretchen Lear, and Audra Hittle and husband, Kane; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia and Evan Hendrickson and Lydia and Caroline Hittle.   Lola was preceded by her husband, "Strawberry" on October 30, 1988; her parents; her grandson, Marlon Lear; and her sisters, Helen Ellard and Freda Harper. 

Friends may call at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 where the family will greet visitors.  Funeral services will  be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Miles Funeral  Service and interment will follow at Highland Cemetery.  A memorial has been established in Lola'a name for the Cowley County Humane Society, and contributions may be made through Miles Fuenral Service, 4001 E. 9th Avenue, Winfield, Kansas 67156 which is in charge of arrangements.
