Robert Jackson "Bobby" Bennett Jr., age 63, a resident of rural Howard, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, Kansas.  He was born on April 5, 1950 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Robert Jackson and Isabelle Arlene (Ward) Bennett. 

Bobby was a graduate of Moline High School in Moline, Kansas.  On July 20, 1976, he was united in marriage to Joan Colleen Wiseman in Gainesville, Texas.  He worked in the body and fender repair business and owned an over-the-road truck.  Bobby was a member of the United Methodist Church in Howard, Kansas and the American Legion Ferguson-Spease Post in Moline, Kansas.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to Branson, going to casinos, and taking cruises.  Bobby was an excellent cook, and he would do anything for his kids.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Joan Bennett of the home; four sons, Dennis Bennett of Edmond, Oklahoma, Robert (Shalla) Bennett III of Emporia, Kansas, Ryan Bennett of Moline, Kansas, and Rance Bennett of Jamestown, North Dakota; one daughter, Robyn Bennett of the home; his mother, Isabelle Bennett of Moline, Kansas; two sisters, Rebecca Thetford of Great Bend, Kansas and Sherry (Bert) Knight of Omaha, Nebraska; and granddaughters, Javan, Teagen, Emeli, and Elleanna.  He was preceded in death by a son, Roland, and his father, Robert Bennett Sr.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas with Pastors Stacy and Dorothy Ellsworth officiating.  Memorials are suggested to the West Elk Elementary Library and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E.
