ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, will take her conservative message to Fox News as a regular commentator, the cable channel announced Monday.

"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News," Palin said in a statement posted on the network's Web site. "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news."

Fox said that according to the multiyear deal, Palin will offer political commentary and analysis. She also will host occasional episodes of Fox News "Real American Stories," a series featuring true inspirational stories about Americans.

"Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup," Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.

Palin is hugely popular with conservatives and has more than 1.1 million Facebook followers.

She stepped down as Alaska governor in July, 17 months before the end of her first term in office. Her resignation came less than a year after she vaulted to overnight fame as John McCain's running mate.

Palin worked part-time as a weekend sportscaster in the 1980s for KTUU-TV in Anchorage.

Her upcoming commentary career had her Facebook fans giddy with excitement Monday.

"Tell 'em like it is girl!!!!!!," one poster wrote.

Palin finished a nationwide tour in December to promote her best-selling book, "Going Rogue."

Politics / Re: Obama Called Out By C-SPAN

Democratic leaders don't want millions of American's breathing down there necks watching all the BS that they plan on putting into this ridiculous outrageous  so called heath care bill (govt takeover of our freedom bill)..... I can understand trying to make health care more affordable but trying to force this bill down millions of American citizens throats that's just plan stupidity.... There has got to be better ways to help it out but Democratic leaders and Obama don't care what anyone else thinks..... An on top of that fining people for not being able to afford any health care (if it passes at all) and maybe even spending time in a jail cell if someone fined doesn't pay there fine.... wow  well guess they better start expanding a lot of jail around the country while they are at it...

Warph where did you read this at? Just wondering

According to the The 43rd Edition Kansas Statistical Abstract, The population of Elk county in 2000 was 3,261. In 2008 they estimated the population of 3,042. That's a loss of over 200 people,a loss of 25 every year. That don't sound too bad but the years start adding up.... The Kansas Statistical Abstract also projects that in 2020 the population will only be 2,701.....

Like Mark Hall said we got to move forward and grow/improve our county but we need to get more businesses into Elk county.... Take Sweetwater, Texas for example. They were as good as a dead town until all those wind farms were installed.  People started coming to their community and county because there are jobs there. New businesses went up because of the wind industry. Now they got money to spend to pay for schools and purty much whatever they want too.

This to me is an excellent way to help Elk County get back up on its feet and to start Improving and growing.....

Yeah the wind industry has turned that county into something that people probably thought was impossible....

The organization that did this video were the ones that actually got the air quality permits denied for the Holcomb coal-fired power plant. The organization is called GPACE. They are all about clean energy for Kansas and improving air quality....
