Leonard instead of Lenard.  Sorry  Emaline.

Emaline Lenard was my teacher at Grenola.   I'm sure she thought about getting out of teaching after having to put up with me.   

I think it would be nice if somehow signs were made and put up by places like Boston, Leeds, Cloverdale and others

Boston was located close to 1.25 miles west of 99 highway on Valley road or the county line.   You might miss it as nothing is there but tall grass.    The school at Boston was moved to Belknap.  That was the last building. 

I checked several sources and they said Lincoln never owned slaves.  He didn't live a in a slave state.

Ross maybe you should think about keeping things to yourself.   You might be a good pallbearer.

Black bugs maybe blister bugs.   They are black, grey, and brown striped.  I you catch them before much damage spraying will kill them or cause them to move on.

We cross the bridge going to Winfield rather than going to Grenola.   There is another bridge 3 or so miles south that crosses Caney. 

I had heard it was to go to Independence.
