Gordon Wayne Westfall, 54, of Winfield, Kansas, died December 24, 2008 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born July 18, 1964 in Winfield to Norman and Ruth (Schantz) Westfall.  He was raised in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1972.  He attended Cowley County Community College and Wichita State University.  He worked as a tool and die maker for Boeing Aircraft.  He was a member of the Winfield First Presbyterian Church.

He married Ann Hixson in 1984 in Winfield, Kansas  She died in 1989.  He married Sherry Reger in 1994, and she survives. Other survivors include his parents, Norman and Ruth Westfall of Winfield; a stepson, Dustin Reger of Chillicothe, Missouri; a stepdauyghter, Lindsay Reger of Manhattan, Kansas; brothers, Jeff Westfall of Winfield, Kansas and Melvin Winter of Severy, Kansas; and a sister, Pixie McCoy of Winfield, Kansas.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Winfield, Kansas.  Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Swisher-Taylor & Morris Funeral Home.

Arthur D. Petty, age 84, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Sedan, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the Homestead Health Center in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born June 16, 1924 in Sedan, Kansas to Fred and Bertha Mae (Smith) Petty.  He grew up and attended local schools in th Chautauqua County area.  He worked for Greenwood County as a heavy equipment operator.  For most of his life, he worked as a farmer.  He was a bell ringer for the Salvation Army for over ten years.

He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Burton of Wichita, Kansas; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Roy Petty; and one sister, Viola Irene Hamilton.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Sedan, Kansas.  Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Belknap Cemetery located south of Moline, Kansas with Hospice Chaplain Paul Danner officiating. 

The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Wichita Adventist Christian Academy, and these remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas  67361.

Thomas Joseph Manix, 63, of Moline, Kansas, passed away on December 12, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was born on May 30, 1945 to Joseph Clarence and Ysabel Doris(Wilcox) Manix in Boulder City, Nevada.  He attended school in Boulder City as well as Newport Beach, California and Costa Mesa, California.

In 1968 he married Eileen Reviea.  To this union was born a daughter, Heather, in 1972.  He adopted Nicolas Manix in 1976.  They moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1974 to pursue a 34-year career in oil as a driller and safety officer.  He won many industry accolades before retiring in 2007.  His interests included commercial aviation, instructor licenses, and outdoor recreation.  Thomas loved hunting, fishing, golf, shooting, hiking, and photography.  Thomas was a dedicated Christian who loved Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, John Manix; and a sister Katherine Manix.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Manix; daughter, Heather Ledford; son, Nicholas Manix; grandchildren, Jason, Kaleb, Brinn, and Jackson Ledford; sister, Teresa; and brothers, Kevin and Paul.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Moline Community Fellowship, 126 N. Main, Moline, Kansas with Pastor Gary Boles officiating.  Cremation has taken place.

Darrel Lee Comstock, 41, a resident of rural Fall River, Kansas, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at his mother's home in Fall River.  He was born October 3, 1967 in Mena, Arkansas, the son of Danny Lee and Karen (Jackson) Comstock.  He was a graduate of Christian Challenge High School in Wichita, Kansas. 

For eleven years, Darrell worked at Mid-Continent Manufacturing in Wichita.  Most recently he was a machinist at Aerospace Manufacturing in Fredonia, Kansas for three years.    He was a very active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia, Kansas and enjoyed being a member of the Fredonia Saddle Club.

On July 17, 1987 in Wichita, Kansas, he married Cheri J. McGregor.  She survives at their home.

In addition to his wife, Cheri, he is survived by his parents, Karen and Ed Parsons of Fall River, Kansas; his children, Michael Layne Bouche, Jade Nicole Comstock, Jackson Edward Comstock, and Danielle Kathryn Comstock, all of Fall River, Kansas; his sisters, Kim Comstock of Fall River, Kansas and Krista Howery of Wichita, Kansas.  Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Danny Comstock.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia with Pastor Gary Sherman officiating.  A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas.  Friends may call on Thursday, January 1, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Timmons Funeral Home where the family will be receiving friends.

Memorials have been established in Darrell's name with the Edge Youth Ministries and The Fredonia Saddle Club and may be sent to the funeral home. Timmons Funeral Home, P.O.
