Obama Tells Wealthy Gathering He Wants To Institutionalize Crisis Atmosphere 140513Obamacrisis

Complaining about a lack of community spirit in Washington DC, the president said Sunday that he wishes to see institutionalized the kind of atmosphere that emerged in Boston following the recent terrorist bombings, so his administration can get things done.

Obama made the comments while speaking to wealthy millionaires at a fundraiser inside a five-story mansion owned by Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Only 60 guests were present at the event, with names from banking, fashion and entertainment, including singer Justin Timberlake, actress Jessica Biel, and designer Tommy Hilfiger.

The story goes on to talk about:
Quote:
The idea of the permanent crisis is a long standing one. In his book Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, which documents the origins and nature of fascist movements, columnist Jonah Goldberg notes that “The utility of terror was multi-faceted, but among its chief benefits was the tendency to maintain a permanent sense of crisis. Crisis is routinely identified as a core mechanism of fascism because it short-circuits debate and democratic deliberation” (42-43).

Haven't we had crisis after crisis?
Isn't the IRS story a crisis?
Isn't the Benghazi Story a disaster?
Isn't the AP Story a disaster?

What is it about the Obamacare, we don't hear much about it with all these disasters going on do we?
Is that the agenda, is that the thing to get done while disasters distract us?

Just asking?

4  General Category / Politics / Re: Elk Konnected Hand out at County Commissioners meeting on 4/25 on: May 13, 2013, 08:06:07 pm

Mr. Konnected President of the West Elk School Board of Education (Not School Board of Recreation),

We all know that you are reading this thread, so I would like to let you know about the mailings, at least to me,
from the school staff of notification of school board meetings Agenda.

I am on the West Elk School USD 283 mailing list and I am having trouble understanding what the staff is doing with that list.

Perhaps, Mr. Konnected School Board President you can correct, what I consider an error on the part of the School Staff.

I just received the Agenda for the May 8, 2013 Regular School Board Meeting, the envelope is postage stamped 11 May 2013 and i have received it today May 13, 2013.

An agenda that is received 5 days late is useless, don't ya think?

Is this any kind of a respectable way to treat a parent and taxpayer?

Is this a way of discouraging taxpayer and parental participation?

Now, it is my understanding that the purpose of being on the mailing list,
is to receive the Agenda a few days before the regular or special school board meetings,
so a person has an idea of what is happening at the meeting.

Isn't that why the Agenda is published to show what is going to take place?

If not why publish it?

I am wondering, if this is just an inexcusable ongoing error on the part of the school staff, or is it intentional, or if it is a standard operating procedure at the school.

I sure hope you can get this situation corrected and I can avoid taking the problem to the Kansas State School Board, I am saving the post marked envelopes and the dated notifications of School Board meetings for that purpose if necessary. And i sure hope it is not necessary.

I sure hope you can correct this problem and see to it that I receive my mailing of the Agenda days before the meeting instead of days after the meeting. I'm counting on you to get the job done Mr. Konnected School Board President.

Thank you,
Ross

Should we continue to listen to the propaganda of Feel Good Stories that tell only the Feel Good parts of the Stories?

Economist Roche: End of Central Bank Easing Will Trigger Financial Crisis
Friday, 10 May 2013 08:01 AM

By Dan Weil

When central banks across the world finally stop easing, a financial crisis will ensue, says David Roche, president of research firm Independent Strategy.

"Yes it [a financial crisis] will happen, and yes, it will be bigger [than the credit crisis of 2008-09]," he tells CNBC. "Once you re-price the burden of the world's debt, . . . the ugly truth will be revealed."

All the easing has helped push 10-year Treasury yields down to 1.81 percent, 10-year German government bonds down to 1.30 percent and 10-year U.K. government bond yields down to 1.85 percent as well Friday.

But once central banks cut off the gravy train, buying will dry up in a hurry in those markets, Roche says. And that's a major problem.

"As long as the central bankers print money, . . . the yields won't go up, and the day they stop, the yields will go up by so much we will have a financial crisis on our hands," he notes.

"You are looking at a massive capital loss on a mark-to-market basis for a lot of financial institutions in the world and for people who have put their savings into those bonds," Roche explains.

"[That] will hit demand and hit the real economy, because if wealth goes down people's optimism about the world economy will fade."

I  apologize for that!
We should stick to feel good stories shouldn't we.
Let's forget the Benghazi stories and the like.

Feel Good is in!

I think this is where they make their mistakes by thinking of us the American public that elected them into their over paid positions as  peons and them selves our betters.

Who is it responsible for the rebellion and civil war in Syria?

The peons rising up against the powers to be and it will mostly likely lead to the downfall of the powers to be.

Peons I don't think so.

I believe if our government pushes hard enough they will have a similar problem on their hands and that is why they want to disarm us.

I sincerely hope it never comes about!

The lying by the so called elite, the government, and the Military upper ranks needs to cease.

Yes, I call the so called elite liars.

They want you to believe the unemployment is declining, don't they?
They want you to think the economy is fine, don't they?
They want you to think that everything is peachy keen while they build up their army in the US, and buying billions and billions of bullets and guns, don't they?
They want you to think that everything is peachy keen while they build up their supply of caskets that are capable of holding maybe 6 or 8 bodies, right.
They want you to think that everything is peachy keen while they build up while they build highway check point stations and have them ready to put in place, don't they?
They want you to think that everything is peachy keen while they build up their supply of anti-personnel  vehicles, don't they?

If the economy is doing fine, why do we have a ongoing monthly stimulus package of The Federal Reserve buying  $85 billion month in Treasury bonds and mortgage-backed securities and how much money is it that the Fed Res is paying into the stock market?

Yea, everything is fine and everything else is just a phony conspiracy.

There are many factors that would explain those numbers . Type of ag activity, number of tillable acres, etc. I don't think you can prove it's " ruralness" with that. I certainly wouldn't compare Elk county to any of that area, personally, just by driving through.

Well said Bullwnkle well said.

Warph even the State of Kansas recently admitted they have lowered the educational standards so much over the years.
That kids going off to college don't comprehend what they read and therefore have to take remedial reading courses in college.
