My heart aches for Liz and her family.  I am so sorry that this has happened.  My prayers, thoughts and distant hugs go to you Liz....May God wrap his arms around you and hold you close.

I know you are right sister......Our grass is coming up as well....We had to plant Buffalograss as it is native to the soil here and all we have ever planted is fescue.....the type we purchased had to be planted the first part of June......then water, water, water.......it is paying off....the grass is beginning to poke its head up......I was told it would take 3 years for it to be completely established....lord....and I am not a very patient person but oh well.  Found someone to put up our guttering in the back this week.  So happy about that....My garden is so pretty.....my cowpeas are growing leaps and bounds and I so hope we have some tomatoes ripe to take this weekend to mama.....Time will tell.....Again...thanks sister for reminding me what I tend to forget...I know Daddy is right there with me all the time......we were digging potatoes and I could almost hear him say, "Well, honey...that is not bad for your first year here in this soil.  Now you need to add nutrients to the soil and till it in and next year will be even better."  haha...so that is exactly what we are doing.....

I love to garden.....I have had califlower, broccoli and new potatoes out of my gardens.  I have had bunches of fresh strawberries and have put several in the freezer.  Now my strawberries are done bearing fruit and are now making lots and lots of babies for next year.  They look amazing.  I have lots of tomatoes on the vines but non are ripe yet and I my cow peas and my japaneese okra is up....My Daddy would be proud of my gardens....now if we could just get our darn grass to come up that we have planted for the 2nd time and are watering like crazy.....

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.  We had a great time.  Saw 3 movies.  Robin Hood, Letter to Juliet and IronMan 2.  Letter to Juliet was so good, then IronMan 2 and then Robin Hood.  That is the way Curt and I ranked them.  We slept late, went to the zoo, did some shopping and just enjoyed our time together.  It was a great birthday.  Thanks again for the wishes.  I do appreciate it.

At times...but I think that I am the quiet one.  I am sure that my sister would disagree but when my husband met my sister and then when he was telling his brothers about us before the wedding, he said that when they meet my sister, it will be like putting me in a coma. hahaha...We certainly have tons of fun and neither one of us is boring but I would say I am more reserved than my sister is.  We will see what kind of come back we get with this one. lol

Thank you very much.  Bless their hearts, they can use all they can get.  They house so many dogs and they do a wonderful job.  All the barking, pooping, feeding and cleaning up and they have it down to a routine.  All the owners are so delighted how wonderfully the kids take care of their pets which most are their babies.  They give great lenghty instructions to Tania and she so kindly does exactly as the owners want.  Some get special treats, some are on meds, some have special toys and she even has one that she has to administer insulin to.  The kids are so kind and treats each pet as it is their own.  We help them over the holiday and that is quite a process.  I had a hard time, cuz I fell in love with so many of the dogs.  They are so happy to see us when we showed up to do chores and they just want to be held and loved on.  It takes special people to do this kind of job and the kids do it great.

If anyone has any old bath towels or old blankets that they would like to get rid of, would you please take them up to True Value store and my sister, Teresa Cookson/Heilevang will pick them up and get them to me.  My daughter owns a boarding kennel for dogs and that is what they use to put down in the cages.  Believe you me, they use a lot of them.  We were there over Christmas and we helped them do chores which they do 4 times a day and they had 52 dogs over the Christmas holiday and we were doing laundry 4 times a day.  It takes a lot of towels and blankets each day.  Thank you all so much in advance.

The Coffee Shop / Re: Do you believe in Santa Claus?

I want to add something that sister wrote.  Yes I still believe and so does Tania.  Tania being 29 years old and we still have stockings and we still have one special gift in the morning under the tree unwrapped from Santa and there is a gift from Zippy the Elf. hahaha....

When we were little and I am sure that sister did this on purpose after she found out there the truth but i didn't know....we had bunk beds and she was on the top and I was on the bottom, but on Christmas eve, she would always sleep with me on the bottom bunk and she would take her covers and pull them down over my the top and hang them over so that we could not see from the bed just in case Santa peeked his head in the bedroom.  haha...that was always so fun.  I remember trying to stay awake to hear santa but sleep always over took me.  Mama and Daddy always made Christmas so much fun and exciting and it is still that way.  We now go to Tania's house for Christmas and I have never spent Christmas morning without Tania....we have so much fun and I think on that day we are all kids again.

The Coffee Shop / Re: What Are You Reading?

I am reading Eat, pray and Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.  It is really good and I am about done with it.  I had a friend tell me to read it that he thought I would get some good out of it.  He was soooo right.
