Title: Fluoride . . . . Harmful to Child Development
Post by: Wake-up! on October 02, 2018, 11:28:12 am
“To date, there are at least 53 known international, scientific studies concluding that fluoride consumption is harmful to the development of intelligence in children; it impairs their learning and memory capacity. Children are commonly exposed to fluoride from municipal water supplies, dental treatments, environmental pollution, and in-utero.”

Do the benefits outweigh the harm? Whose choice should it be to use flouride?

I grew up on well water and my dentist "painted" my teeth with fluoride every year...grew up with great choppers. BUT, parents can definitely over do it. Kids don't need fluoride even before they have teeth and should drink water with no fluoride until they have some teeth. As to how much is too much?... people should work with their dentist on that. Kids should not drink water with fluoride, AND brush with fluoride tooth paste, AND use fluoride mouthwash AND have their teeth panted too.That's probably too much, unless there is a compelling reason to do so.  Both my father in law and brother in law were dentists.They always said fluoride is not one of those things where if some is good, lots more would be better...not so. People should discuss it at a child's first dental check up and a program should be started that is right for that child.

More Fluoride information . . . . and debate;

Dr. Mercola N.D. says;
Fluoride is added to 70 percent of U.S. public drinking water supplies to aid in the prevention of cavities. This benefit is dubious at best, as there is practically no difference in tooth decay rates between fluoridated and non-fluoridated countries, and no difference between states that fluoridate a high versus low percentage of their water.

Disease symptoms associated with excess Fluoride use;
Arthritis – stiff, painful joints with or without swelling; painful feet in morning
Asthma – especially after showering in chlorine-filtered water
Bony, painful lumps where tendons and ligaments attach to bones. Calcifications of connective tissue on X-ray, especially with pain and reduced range of motion
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) – especially if it persists when you spend time in an unfluoridated city or switch to distilled water for drinking and cooking
Cold – body temperature below normal, feeling cold all the time, feeling cold soon after a hot bath or shower
Colic in bottle-fed babies or colic developing when breast-fed babies start solids or are weaned
Dental fluorosis (white or brown spots on teeth)
Diabetes – worsening symptoms
Diabetes insipidus (a kidney ailment) – excessive thirst, increased water consumption that does not relieve thirst, dry throat and irritated eyes, and frequent, dilute urine, especially at night, with normal blood sugar findings
Eyes – moving black spots (scotoma, or floaters)
Fatigue, weakness and brain fog after bathing or showering in chlorine-filtered water (similar symptoms can occur from chlorine sensitivity)
Fibromyalgia (severe muscle weakness and/or pain with extremely sore spots on various bony areas)
Food intolerances that seem to come and go
Gastrointestinal problems – irritable bowel, nausea, diarrhea without apparent cause, heartburn and upper bowel pain especially after drinking a full glass of water
Gum disease – irritated or bleeding gums despite good hygiene and diet; gums heal when you use unfluoridated toothpaste
Heart palpitations and increased heart rate without exertion
Kidney disease – worsening symptoms, kidney stones
Skin – hives, blisters, rash on stomach or back within an hour of drinking fluoridated water or after bathing or showering in chlorine-filtered water
Tea drinking – causes upset stomach, gastric pain, heart palpitations or “the jitters” similar to strong coffee
Teeth – loosening or needing to be extracted despite good hygiene and diet
Thyroid diseases – underactive (hypothyroid), overactive (hyperthyroid or Graves disease), goiter and nodules

Iodine is extremely important since the cells need it to regulate their metabolism. Without it, people are known to suffer from swollen glands in the throat, thyroid diseases, increased fluoride toxicity, decreased fertility rates, increased infant mortality rates, and (with severe deficiency) mental retardation. It has been theorized that iodine deficiency is a causal factor of ADHD in babies of iodine-deficient mothers.

Proponents were too quick to declare fluoride as the prime solution for tooth decay, says Catherine Carstairs, a professor at the University of Guelph in Ontario who wrote a 2015 paper in the American Journal of Public Health titled Debating Water Fluoridation Before Dr. Strangelove.

Speiser notes that many other studies conducted over the years have shown a correlation between fluoride toxicity and cancer including, but not limited to, osteosarcoma, respiratory cancers, and oral cancers.

What is known is that fluoride is toxic. In fact, the number one reason for poison control calls concerning fluoride are for children who've eaten toothpaste. Long-term ingestion is harmful to the brain, digestive system, heart, bones... even the tooth enamel it’s supposed to help. These next 9 shocking facts will make you take a second look at your exposure to fluoride.

"Higher levels of urinary fluoride [in women] during pregnancy are associated with more ADHD-like symptoms in school-age children, according to University of Toronto and York University researchers."

“Our findings are consistent with a growing body of evidence suggesting that the growing fetal nervous system may be negatively affected by higher levels of fluoride exposure,” said Dr. Morteza Bashash, the study’s lead author and researcher at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health."
